In chemical industry, moisture analysis is required for ensuring smooth drying operations such as spray drying or vacuum drying. By measuring accurately relative humidity (RH), absolute humidity, dew point and temperature, chemicals manufacturer can be certain there is no quality deviations in the produced powdered chemicals, the drying process is efficient, and use of energy is optimized.

Vaisala's HUMICAP® and DRYCAP® technologies for improved chemical tolerance

Vaisala HUMICAP® humidity and DRYCAP® dew point sensors both feature good chemical tolerance. For especially demanding applications Vaisala has developed chemical purge function, which helps to maintain measurement performance under chemical exposure. This is a unique feature that helps to correct possible long-term drift of the instruments and extends the required calibration interval in environments where gaseous chemical impurities are present. Hydrocarbon based solvents, cleaning chemicals and sterilizing agents are all chemicals with a tendency to penetrate into the sensor. They all can be driven out using chemical purge.
