Our first survey about "Wind observation & optimization on WASP vessels" in 2022 (together with the International Windship Association) uncovered valuable insights that have shaped our approach to developing more effective solutions for maritime operations. We are excited to share the findings of our 2024 survey analysis.

Key insights:

• Optimization and safety: 87% of respondents emphasize the importance of wind measurements for optimizing wind propulsion systems, with 50% reporting notable improvements in safety.
• Strategic sensor placement: 63% of respondents prefer using 3 or more wind sensors to ensure a comprehensive understanding of wind conditions, enhancing overall system performance.
• Remote wind data: 70% of respondents favor lidar-based remote wind data, which provides upstream wind conditions for predictive adjustments.
• Local wind measurements: The significance of local wind measurements has increased dramatically, with 75% of respondents now rating it as very important, up from 20% in 2022.
