In this article, I offer a simple checklist in a question format to guide the decision to add ETO solutions to your monitoring system.
☑ Unique Application Needs: Does your application involve specialized environmental conditions, measurement challenges, or unique physical constraints that standard products cannot fully address?
o Examples: Surface mount temperature probes, extended cable lengths for walk-in freezers.
☑ Customized Features or Configurations: Does your project demand tailored features, such as non-standard configurations or hardware integration?
o Examples: CAB100 Integrated Panel with higher accuracy differential pressure sensors or non-standard pressure ranges.
☑ Integration with Existing Systems: The viewLinc Enterprise Server can integrate with third-party systems via OPC-UA or the viewLinc API. In most cases, either of these solutions will be effective. But in rare cases, such as custom-built systems, legacy equipment, or unique communication protocols, ETO may be in order.
o Examples: CAB100 Integrated Panel with the addition of voltage or dry contact inputs, or web relay outputs based on alarms within viewLinc. See CAB100 configuration options.
☑ CAB100 Layout Modifications: Do you have custom or non-standard needs that require changes to the standard layout of components?
o Examples: CAB100 Integrated Panel with additional input data loggers or terminal strips to accommodate specific wiring needs.
☑ Factory Pre-Configuration: Does your equipment have special configuration requirements to allow for expedited and simplified installation?
o Examples: Network configuration for the VDL200, analog scaling configuration for analog input loggers.
