Vaporized hydrogen peroxide sensors: How to maintain measurement quality

In this webinar, we will go over methods and options for calibrating Vaisala’s HPP270 series probes. Maintaining the quality and consistency is the top priority in life science industries because reliable measurements are key to achieving quality targets. Good accuracy and well known long-term characteristics are valued features of a measurement instrument. Understanding the sensor behavior over its lifecycle is typically the most challenging task. The sensor manufacturer can provide some guidelines that are based on typical use, but in vaporized hydrogen peroxide bio-decontamination, each cycle has its own characteristics that will  change over time due. Changes in load and equipment wear are two examples that will impact processes. The final evaluation of the sensor maintenance activities always falls in the hands of the application specialist. Even though the quality is amongst the top priorities, reality still sets the limits in finding the economical quality optimum.

In terms of long-term stability, the bio-decontamination process is especially challenging, since vaporized hydrogen peroxide is not only harmful for the living organisms, but for measurement technologies as well. The accuracy specification of a new instrument may not apply to the sensor that has been exposed several times to hydrogen peroxide bio-decontamination cycles. Good quality assessment requires analyzing empirical data that can and should be collected from various sources.

In this webinar, Product Manager Joni Partanen explains how Vaisala PEROXCAP measurement technology works and how it compares to other measurement technologies in the market. You will learn what to consider and emphasize in your sensor maintenance plans.

Topics:
•    Hydrogen peroxide and relative saturation as measurement parameters
•    Reference measurements in the field and diagnostics
•    Factory calibration
