Size Press

Size liquid is constantly fed to the size press or blade coater where paper sizing takes place. During sizing, the liquid is sprayed on the paper with water. The surplus is circulated.

Optimizing paper sizing operation for best paper quality

Vaisala Polaris process refractometer is used to control the sizing liquid concentration in order to optimize the paper sizing process. Water dilutes the sizing liquid and constant monitoring of size liquid concentration is required for best fine paper quality.
