Meet our pioneers: Tapani Salminen Tapani Salminen, Director, Instrument Factory Vantaa, Finland I would say that the best thing in my work is that it’s divided to two different aspects: the operative side and the development side. The development tasks include finding ways to always be better than the day before as well as working on production and operations strategy. The operative side includes, for example, securing that the customers get the needed products on time with right quality. Of course, to be able to meet the customers’ expectations, daily management and operations must run smoothly and accurately. Furthermore, I enjoy that the goals and outcomes of production work are measurable and concrete – the feedback and results are immediate. For me, it’s very rewarding to work in a company that really do things for a better future. I’m proud to work in a Finnish high-tech company which is also global, and one gets to work with people all around the world. We have a magnificent team, and I am so proud how we have found new ways of working and really have been able to turn this world situation to our advantage. I think that the fact that our teams have been able to perform incredibly well during a pandemic tells a lot of our culture.
