Tactics for weather-ready solar energy production

From hurricanes and hail to floods and wildfires, extreme weather can wreak havoc on solar power plants. Climate change is bringing more extreme weather more often, making accurate weather awareness critical for success. Join this Masterclass as experts from Vaisala, RayGen and PV Hardware show you how to meet the challenges of weather hazards and maximize your solar power plant’s performance.

What will we cover?

  • How extreme weather affects solar power plants, from damages and power loss to spiraling costs
  • The critical role — and financial advantages — of high-quality weather data in identifying, measuring and mitigating weather risks
  • Weather mitigation strategies and supportive weather measurement infrastructure for minimizing the impact on solar energy production and asset longevity
  • RayGen Power Plant Carwarp: Using high-resolution wind data & nowcasting for effective mitigation against wind hazards in Australia
  • PV Hardware case study: Overcoming weather challenges in PV tracker systems through advanced weather technology
